from the confessional

words of absolution

my turn next

moonlit night

the howl of a vixen

and a distant siren

rain on the roof

we wave goodbye

to the heatwave

after the heatwave

petrichor

and green grass

partial eclipse

of the sun

my last one

partial eclipse

I try a quick glance

at the sun

a bumble bee

my daughter

with sugar water

the smell of books

in the old library

words fail me

early morning

a wood pigeon

marks time

sunny August morning

the smell of warm bricks

as I step outside

cool morning

heatwave over

the smell of barbecue smoke lingers

after the heatwave

petrichor

and the smell of bins

heatwave

the house cracks

and wakens

heatwave

the smell of everythng

enhanced

windless and humid

the thunderbugs gather

on my white shirt

 a bee

on a hollyhock

swings in the breeze
